BioShock 2 is BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams again

Last week a spokesperson of 2K Games said that BioShock 2 had left its subtitle, but now it appears that BioShock 2 is still BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. 2K Games says that the name change was just a rumor, so right now the official title of the game is still BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams.

When BioShock 2 was announced, the game had the subtitle Sea of Dreams but now 2K Games has decided to drop the Sea of Dreams from the name and just calls it BioShock 2. A spokesperson for BioShock 2 says that Sea of Dreams sounded a bit silly so they won’t be using the subtitle ever again. The same BioShock 2 rep also says that BioShock 2~~: Sea of Dreams~~ won’t be getting a co-op multiplayer mode as we hoped.

Last week a NeoGAF user already revealed what was in the BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams coverstory of the April issue of Game Informer. The 10 page article also offers tons of concept art and screenshots. The coming weeks BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams will be on 25 other magazine covers internationally says 2K Games. 2K Games also responded to the rumors that have been floating around on the internet.

The internet has been busy these past few days with rumors about what is and is not in BioShock 2. While I won’t be giving away any details from the article here (I’ll let you experience it for yourself) I will let you know that there won’t be any spliced-up rhinos, Soviet invasions, or co-op, but you may very well see a Big Daddy or two. The game will feature quite a bit else, however, so head out to your mailbox or favorite store and pick up the Game Informer magazine for the full scoop.

2K Games will soon have its first BioShock 2 podcast online along with other exclusive news items on April 13th. Scans after the click.

BioShock 2 coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

Up until now Take Two hadn’t officially announced on what platforms BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams will come out, but today they told MTV Multiplayer that the game will come out on Xbox 360, PC and PalyStation 3. Some time ago there was a rumor that it was still unclear on what platforms BioShock 2 would come out, and fans of the franchise immediately started to think that BioShock 2 would be a temporary exclusive. Let’s hope the PS3-version won’t be delayed this time!

New BioShock 2 details from latest Game Informer issue

A NeoGAF user has posted some details from the newest Game Informer issue that has details on BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. This info may contain spoilers, so beware!

The opening cutscene starts the game off in New York city where Jack intercepts the Big Sister kidnapping his daughter from a beachhouse. He chases the Big Sister with his boat and follows the red light that’s moving very fast under water.
Game takes place 7 years after the original, namely in 1967
Big Sister becomes angry after Mark fires a gun, Big Sister wrecks his boat and Mark falls in the water suffering from a black out.
Your character’s name is Jack Abbott
The game only has one Big Sister
New weapons and plasmids (Including a telepathy and time control)
Challenge maps
Completely new levels of Rapture, including a fully explorable zoo.
Squid Boss Battles
No Big Daddies in this sequel, but new enemies such as soviets and dogs.
Underwater exploration levels.
New Health and Revival System.
2 Player co-op. (No mention on who second player is)

BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams teaser in BioShock for PS3

A quick PlayStation 3-gamer has discovered that there’s a teaser for BioShock 2 at the end of the first BioShock game for PlayStation 3. After he received a Trophy for finishing the game, he first saw the teaser trailer of 15 seconds showing some footage for BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. Kevin Levine not working on BioShock 2

A couple of days ago, Take Two announced that BioShock 2 is coming out before October 31, today we have another update on the sequel to the succesful first game in the BioShock franchise. Kevin Levine, the head producer of the first BioShock game won’t be working on BioShock 2. He decided to leave the development of the game up to 2K Marin and 2K Melissa. Together with the other guys working at 2K Boston, Kevin Levine is working on a brand new franchise.

BioShock 2 coming out in 2009 says Take Two

While the PlayStation 3-version of the first BioShock game is still in the makings, 2K Play is making big plans for the sequel to the very first BioShock game. Take Two has announced that the sequel to BioShock is coming in its financial period of 2009. This means that the game should come out before October 31 2009. More info on BioShock 2 hasn’t been announced yet, but we’ll keep you updated!
